NHS Group Starts Today

Today the formal alignment between Norfolk Community Services NHS Trust and Cambridgeshire Community Services becomes live with the creation of our new NHS Group.  This is an important development for both Trusts and will allow us to improve outcomes for our local populations by working together.

Our new Group Board executive and non-executives take up their roles leading both organisations today and we had our first Board meeting this morning to agree the governance that underpins this.  Please find the attached details on that governance and details of the executives and non-executives leading the Group from today.

This is the first time two high performing organisations have joined up in this way – and we believe that by doing that, we can offer the best community care in the NHS. Forming a group will make us stronger and more resilient, better able to cope with challenges and continue our focus on the needs of patients and service users. Meanwhile cost efficiencies – such as better buying power – will give us more funds to spend on care.

We have developed a quick summary of the key facts, so you have them all in one place that brings together:

  • Why we are forming a Group

  • What the advantages will be for patients

  • How we will take forward the best of both organisations to create a shared culture

  • Who is who on the new Board

  • An overview of the new Group governance arrangements
